Our first walk of the year on the first day post lockdown!!!! We were all so looking forward to getting out and meeting up again.
Still restricted to "Groups of 6" so walks will be repeated each week till June.
We were hoping for lovely weather but the wind was about 40mph walking up Penyghent Gill from Litton.
We didn't see Penyghent as it was shrouded in mist. The weather didn't beat us and after lunch we started our descent back down into Litton
The weather improved and we even saw the sun in the distance.
These beautiful lambs were in Litton a lovely sign of Spring. Brilliant catching up with everyone and thank you for your company.
Wednesday 16th June , we did a 9.25mile walk from Stump Cross Caverns.
From Stump Cross Caverns we walked up Nursery Knot and then down to Grimwith Reservoir.
The weather was perfect for walking
We walked round the reservoir then over the moors and back to Stump Cross.
Here we are at the Stump Cross Caverns in a private "pod" with fabulous views down the valley, where we relaxed and enjoyed a fabulous meal to round the day off. Another wonderful day with lovely
people, thank you for your company. It is well worth a visit to Stump Cross Caverns cafe excellent food and brilliant service.
Saturday the 19th of June we met in Reeth for a 9 mile walk up and over Fremington Edge.
The weather was fabulous, the views were brilliant and the company as always was excellent.
Looking down on Reeth, what a view well worth the climb.
The views just went on and on, below is the cairn at the far end of Fremington Edge.
After our wonderful walk we went to the wonderfully relaxing Burgoyne Hotel in Reeth, we sat in the garden for tea and scones, jam and cream. Perfect end to a perfect day.
