Sunday 9th January - Our first walk of the year from Grassington on a brilliant winter's day.We walked to Hebden and then climbed up to Mossy Tarn.This is the view from the top of the climb.
Here we are heading towards Yarnbury and the lead mines...
From Yarnbury we walked round to Bare House, we had wonderful views over Wharfedale.....
Towards the end of the walk we got this lovely view.
Following the walk we enjoyed an excellent meal at the Gamekeepers Inn in Threshfield, so good to be back. Really enjoyed today thank you all for your wonderful company looking forward to seeing
you again soon.
Sunday 23rd January - We met at the Coniston Hotel at Coniston Cold for a lovely 8.5 mile walk into Malhamdale.
We walked through the hotel grounds ...
to Bell Busk, then over to Airton where we had lunch..
This is the bridge over the River Aire on the Malham Road.. Below at the Trig Point on Haw Crag surrounded by wonderful views.
On our return to the Coniston Hotel we enjoyed a fabulous meal in the View restaurant - will come here again. Another brilliant day thank you all for your company.
Wednesday 2nd February our small, lovely group of Wednesday walkers walked up Sharp Haw and Flasby Fell
Here we are in Flasby, the weather was cold and drizzly but good to be out.
We had a lovely day, battled through loads of mud but the fabulous views made it all worthwhile. Following the walk we went to the Keelham Farm Shop Cafe for an excellent meal. Another brilliant day
thank you for your company.
Wednesday the 23rd February, we walked from the Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey - this was our belated Christmas short walk and long lunch which we had to cancel due to covid!
It was a cold but pleasant day, we walked to Bolton Abbey village and had coffee at the tea room. We then went to the Priory and had a look round this is the beautiful Alter with the wild fowers
behind.
We then headed back to the Devonshire Arms for a lovely lunch. Thank you all for your company looking forward to the next walk.
Wednesday 2nd March our small and lovely Wednesday group left Kettlewell on a damp and misty day.
We are heading up out of Kettlewell which is in the background.
A "Last of the Summer Wine" moment, we were nice and sheltered here and enjoyed the morning coffee break.
Almost at the top now, we dropped down into Starbotton and back to Kettlewell.We then drove to the Gamekeepers at Threshfield for a wonderful meal. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day in spite of
the weather.
Wednesday 23rd March we did a lovely walk from Grassington on a beautiful Spring day.
From Grassington we walked to Linton and then onto Thorp which was very peaceful for our coffee stop.
From Thorp to Burnsall we then followed the River Wharfe towards Hebden.
Here we are crossing the suspension bridge at Hebden then back to Grassington. We all enjoyed the sunshine the company and the beautiful scenery.We finished the day off at the Gamekeepers for another
brilliant meal.
Sunday 10th of April we did a very interesting and scenic walk from Horton in Ribblesdale.
We were really lucky with the weather, the scenery was brillant too.
For most of the walk we could see the three peaks.
Towards the end of the walk we met a lovely family from York, Steve is a poet and he has written a poem for our group - I have put it on a page in the index - we all liked it.
Nearly back at the car park we watched these lambs having a lovely play together. After the walk we returned to the Coniston Hotel for another superb meal.
